SB 2003    RELATING TO MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO MATCH   EDB,FIN
SD1        FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF 
        MANUFACTURING EXTENSION PROGRAMS.
        Appropriation to match federal funds for manufacturing
        extension programs.

SB 2160    RELATING TO GENERAL EXCISE TAX                 EDB,FIN
SD1        Amends definition of gross income to allow taxpayers
        to deal on a cash basis.

SB 2419    RELATING TO CAPITAL ACCESS PROGRAM             EDB,FIN
SD1        Establishes a capital access program in the department
        of commerce and consumer affairs. 

SB 2716    RELATING TO TAXATION                           EDB,FIN
SD1        Provides a wholesale sale for general excise and use
        tax purposes occurs when a printer sells to a magazine
        publisher who under contract distributes some of those
        magazines without a charge to the persons who receive
        the magazine.





 
SB 2779    RELATING TO STATE ENTERPRISE ZONES             EDB,FIN
SD1        Specifies biotechnology businesses and certain types
        of call centers as qualified businesses within an
        enterprise zone.  Clarifies eligibility criteria for
        the EZ contractor exemption from the general excise
        tax (GET). 

SB 2838    RELATING TO STATE INTERNET PORTAL              EDB,FIN
SD1        Establish an oversight committee to be known as the
        Access Hawaii Committee to review and approve the
        development and operation of an internet portal for
        electronic services and to assist the public library
        system in providing access to the portal.

SB 2906    RELATING TO GARMENT INDUSTRY HOMEWORK          EDB,CPC
        Repeals obsolete provisions and eliminates unnecessary
        regulations.


SB 2924    RELATING TO OPEN MEETINGS                      EDB,JHA
SD1        Assists public agencies in holding meetings by
        videoconference.

SB 2925    RELATING TO THE FUEL TAX                       EDB,FIN
        Repeals certain fuel tax reporting requirements which
        gather information no longer needed.


SB 2945    RELATING TO TAXATION                       EDB,CPC,FIN
SD1        Clarifies and makes consistent the general excise tax
        and use tax a person licensed under chapter 237 which
        laws.  Excludes imported banking services from the use
        tax.  Extends GET pyramiding relief to the sale of
        amusements.  Establishes a graduated decreasing tax
        rate schedule for carriers and freight forwarders. 

SB 3051    RELATING TO LIQUOR EXPORT                      EDB,JHA
SD2        Clarifies the legality of shipping of locally made
        Hawaiian wines, spirits, and champagnes.
